Why
Across New South Wales, Lutruwita / Tasmania and Queensland, native forests continue to be logged under government licences, pushing endangered wildlife to the brink of extinction and worsening the climate crisis.
Shockingly, over 96% of native forests logged in the Bega area are wood-chipped and sent overseas to make low-quality paper products.
Native forest logging is not only environmentally destructive but also runs at a massive economic loss. Over the past four years, NSW Forestry Corporation has cost taxpayers $85 million for logging the homes of koalas, Greater Gliders and countless other forest-dependent species.
Enough!
Visit the March For Forests Bega hub for the latest updates, resources including posters, or to volunteer.
Over the past two years, we've rallied and marched together for forests, with almost 30,000 people joining us across the four nationwide events.
Let’s keep the momentum growing and make this our biggest, boldest show of people power yet.
