Why
A number of people in our community have asked to gather this Monday, alongside rallies happening across the country.
Welcoming President Herzog as an official guest of Australia raises serious concerns about Australia’s commitment to justice and human rights, and for many, remaining silent is not an option.
This is not something we are formally organising, but we stand in solidarity with the calls being made for justice, for accountability, and for the protection of Palestinian lives under international law, as reflected in statements issued around this National Day of Action by Amnesty and APAN.
If you feel moved to stand with others, you are welcome.
As always, please come peacefully and be mindful of recent changes to protest laws, and of the importance of keeping our words and actions grounded in respect and care. Our aim is to stand for human rights, safety, and dignity for all.
