Join us to mark World Beyond War’s 2026 ‘Close US Bases’ global weekend of action AND take part in the national action Calling on our government to ‘Cancel AUKUS and the Force Posture Agreement (FPA) with the US’.
Apart from Pine Gap in the NT, the US has joint access to Kojarena and Harold Holt Naval Communications Bases in WA.
Under the FPA it also has open access to many northern airfields (including Learmonth and Derby in northern WA), military barracks and here on our doorstep, HMAS Stirling at Garden Island, Rockingham.
US nuclear powered submarines are due to start rotating through Stirling as of 2027. There is no end date – if the US is unable to provide the ‘stop gap’ US Virginia Class nuclear powered subs in the 2030’s it’s likely the rotations will just continue - in part ensuring Stirling as an ongoing US base.
Australia needs to Cut ties with the US war machine and the authoritarian and dangerous Trump and assert its defence sovereignty Now!

- 9:00 AM Churchill Park Lookout, Rockingham – a couple of v. short speeches, chants
- 9:30 AM March along the beach to Val St Jetty then continue on the beach or via the Esplanade to the end/Palm Beach > Peron Rd, Peron
- 10:15 AM Arrive HMAS Stirling Gate/Entrance – chants
- 10:45 AM Return by car shuttle to Churchill Park
There will be a support vehicle (carrying water) tracking the march from Val St Jetty.
Please bring hats, sunscreen and water.
And importantly Your Voices and empty hands to carry flags, banners and signs.
