Mai Saif, leading Palestinian activist & chairperson of Free Palestine Melbourne, will provide an update on the current situation in Palestine and the aims of the movement in Australia.
Followed by short reports from each group on their local activities (Darebin4Palestine, Hume4Palestine, Merri-bek4Palestine).
Workshops
Trade unions ~
Intifada IS Union business - how to get workers and their unions involved to stop the genocide and to work for peace with justice in Palestine. Getting your union/workplace active: Educating workers on Palestine, mobilising unions to take action, campaigning for your industry super fund to divest from the genocide.
Community ~
Connecting Palestine with the community - Hume, Darebin & Merri-bek communities have led hundreds of actions in support of Gaza & Palestine over the past two years. How do we continue to build & maintain this vital local activism moving forward into 2026?
Councils and government ~
How to hold our local councils, and our state and federal parliamentarians accountable in the northern suburbs to stop the genocide and to work for peace with justice in Palestine.
