Why

Last week the WA Environment Protection Authority (WA EPA) recommended Texas-based Black Mountain Energy’s 20-well fracking proposal in the heart of the Martuwarra Fitzroy River catchment be approved.

This could be a disaster for the Kimberley. The impacts of fracking could be devastating for the National Heritage listed Martuwarra Fitzroy River.

This can be stopped - the Minister for the Environment Matthew Swinbourn can reject the proposal

The EPA’s recommendation can be appealed and right now we need as many people as possible to put in appeal before the closing date on 10 February.

Come along to an in-person appeal writing workshop in Broome on Thursday 29 January at Lotteries House - RSVP online.

We will be there to assist with writing a formal appeal to submit to the Appeals Convenor.

If you have a laptop, please bring it along. We will also have writing supplies available if you would prefer to handwrite your appeal.

RSVP online. For updates check the Environs Kimberley event, or the Facebook event.
