Reading

The first text we will read is Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels’ The Communist Manifesto. There are four sessions over four weeks:

  • Wednesday 5 November. Prefaces, Preambles and Chapter I: Bourgeois and Proletarians
  • Wednesday 12 November. Chapter 2: II: Proletarians and Communists
  • Wednesday 19 November. Chapter 3: Socialist and Communist Literature
  • Wednesday 26 November. Chapter 4: Position of the Communists in Relation to the Various Existing Opposition Parties

Once we have completed the Manifesto (4 weeks), participants will vote on the next Marxist text to read.
