Why
South Australia decriminalised abortion in 2022 — but now, independent MP Sarah Game is pushing a bill to roll back our rights. Her amendments would ban abortions after 23 weeks unless the mother’s life is at risk or there are severe fetal abnormalities — removing mental health as a valid reason.
I’ve directly asked Sarah Game and her political supporters when they believe abortion should ever be allowed — and every time, they skip around the question. This suggests they don’t see abortion as acceptable at any stage of pregnancy. That’s the slippery slope we’re facing.
