Why

The People’s Picnic will be held on October 19th at Foreshore Park in Newcastle at the statue labelled ‘Resilience’.

We will meet peacefully, with speakers addressing the truth about these issues

  • Tax the rich so everyone can live with dignity
  • Tackle the housing crisis with urgency and fairness
  • Address the cost of living so no one is left behind

This is a class struggle against a powerful Billionaire class.

We have some music planned, fruit will be provided and we will stand side by side against systemic oppression of all kinds.

  • Arrive and leave with a buddy - avoid coming alone
  • Plan your way home
  • Bring water, sunscreen and an umbrella for shade
  • Stay alert but not alarmed, we could face counter protestors. Always practice situational awareness and keep your eyes open.
  • You may wish to wear a mask to avoid spreading or contracting air-bourne pathogens
  • Stay peaceful and calm. This is a non-violent direct action.
  • Make new friends and look out for your first aid, police liaison and marshals.
  • If you get into trouble, speak up, ask for help.
  • Enjoy! Political Action can be fun! Enjoy the music, speakers and poetry and spend a lovely couple of hours at the park with your friends.
