Sue Bolton, Socialist Alliance councillor for Merri-bek in Naarm/Melbourne, addressed hundreds of protesters at the rally organised by Hume for Palestine in Broadmeadows on April 15.

The rally called on Hume City Council to close down weapons factories in the area, including Heat Treatment Australia, which helps produce parts for F-35 Fighter Jets, being used by Israel to bomb Gaza.

Bolton is a long-term Palestine solidarity activist and was one of the first in the country to initiate a pro-Palestine motion in Merri-bek in November.
