Woodside plans to conduct dangerous underwater seismic blasting to find more gas supplies for its Burrup Hub gas expansions. We must protect blue pygmy whales and other marine life put at risk from Woodside's risky activities.
Join us for a community vigil to call for a stop to Woodside's plans for off-shore seismic blasting. The blasting involves directing extremely loud and powerful sonar towards the sea floor to look for gas. The noise created by seismic blasting can irreparably damage a whale's hearing. Because whales use their hearing to communicate and find food, a deaf whale is a dead whale. This event will coincide with a similar vigil in Boorloo/Perth hosted by Greenpeace.
We gather on the lands of the Ngarluma people and pay our respects to elders past and present. Always was, always will be, Aboriginal land.
