Students occupy NMIT

@box text intro = MELBOURNE — On May 9, inspired by the occupation of the Melbourne University administration building, members of the Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE student union occupied their offices in defiance of a TAFE management directive to close the offices.

Fifty students occupied past 2 deadlines, demanding that management restore their funding and their premises. The student union has been completely de-funded by the college management, which has refused to work with the student union in the past. Students left at 6pm when management attacked one of the students.
