Rally and march as part of a national day of action demanding: Justice for refugees; peace not war; bring them here.
Refugee Action Collective (Qld)
Solidarity action with refugees detained at the Kangaroo Point Central Hotel detention centre. The action will involve power walking, jogging or riding a bike (with at least five metres between us) past the hotel and around the block for 45 minutes. The detainees will be holding their own silent peaceful protest out on their balconies.
Exercise in solidarity with refugees detained at Kangaroo Point
About 100 refugees brought to Australia under the Medevac legislate continue to be incarcerated at a hotel in Kangaroo Point. Some have been there nearly two years.
Before being locked-up in this hotel they were detained either on Nauru or PNG. In total they have now been detained for over seven years. There are other refugees in similar circumstances in the Park Hotel in Melbourne and in different detention centres in Australia.
