Issue

On March 1, Students Against the Pulp Mill met to discuss the next steps in the campaign against Gunns Ltd's planned $2 billion Tamar Valley pulp mill.

Attended by 40 students from across Tasmania, the meeting decided that SAPM would organise a "student strike against the pulp mill" to coincide with the April 1 Say No to Fossil Fuels national of action against the mill project. The meeting also decided to support a protest rally being organised by Tasmanians Against the Pulp Mill for 11am on March 14 outside the Gunns office in Launceston.
