2000 student exposure tour — O'week

Australian students are travelling to Indonesia in February to learn about political and social conditions, and meet with activists in the democracy movement. Reports from the tour will be held on most major campuses around O'week.

Indonesia-East Timor national speaking tour — Late March/early April.

Budiman Sujatmiko, chairperson of the People's Democratic Party in Indonesia, recently released from prison; Avelino da Silva, general secretary of the Timor Socialist Party and member of the Transitional Council in East Timor.

National day of action — May

Justice for the East Timorese! Demands include: no forced repatriation of East Timorese refugees; no visa requirements for entry to or exit from Australia for East Timorese; free access to all education, health and welfare services; assistance for refugees to return when they are ready; war reparations to be paid by the Australian government and businesses that profited from Indonesia's occupation of East Timor.
