Indian Pacific — Workers' Rights in Indonesia — Indonesia's rapid industrial growth has been accompanied by a commensurate growth in worker militancy and moves to form independent trade unions. This program hears from individual workers and asks whether Western countries should link Indonesian trade with workers' rights. ABC Radio National, Saturday, June 11, 7.30am.

The Goons — The String Robberies — Only a detective of the highest calibre could deduce that a piece of string holding up Moriarty's sock is the missing link in the notorious String Robberies. Neddie Seagoon, the arch-investigator, is that detective. ABC Radio National, Saturday, June 11, 12pm.

Schoenberg, the First Hundred Years — A documentary fantasy by Glenn Gould. In celebration of the centenary of the birth of the noted Viennese musical innovator, the great Canadian concert pianist turned radio producer makes one of his most audacious forays into sound composition in this profile of the composer. ABC Classic FM, Sunday, June 12, 8pm.

Radio Eye — Tales from the Crypt — This program digs deep into the seedy world of "national security", intelligence and codes. Looking at the science and art of spying, the program explores the potential for abuse of such methods here and in the US. As the Clinton administration gets set to install the Clipper Chip to spy on citizens, under the pretence of preventing terrorism, a struggle to thwart the spooks' plans using information technology is under way. ABC Radio National, Sunday, June 12, 8.30pm.

Robyn Williams presents Radio National's Science Show every Saturday at 12.40pm, repeated on Mondays at 7.10pm, and Ockham's Razor every Sunday at 8.45pm, repeated on Wednesdays at 11.40am.
