Protest Ruddock's racism

February 23, 2000
Issue

The federal minister for immigration, Philip Ruddock, is attending a series of "consultative" public meetings on the government's migration and "humanitarian" programs.

Resistance organised a protest action outside the public meeting in Perth on February 9 to demand the repeal of the Border Protection Act, full welfare rights for migrants and refugees, and an open door policy for all refugees.

Further protests are being organised outside Ruddock's meetings in Newcastle on February 18, Hobart on February 23, Adelaide on February 25, Penrith in Sydney on March 1, Melbourne on March 2 and Canberra on March 9. Phone your local Resistance Centre to find out more, and come along.
