Penrith union protest

Issue

SYDNEY — On November 4, 50 people rallied outside the electorate office of federal Liberal MP Jackie Kelly in the western suburb of Penrith to protest against the Howard government's planned new IR laws.

Members of the manufacturing and construction workers' unions were joined by teachers, health workers, University of Western Sydney students and retired unionists. Passing motorists honked enthusiastically in support.
