PERTH — Charges of stealing were dropped against Civil Service Association secretary Dave Robinson on June 9. The charges were laid by the director of public prosecutions in December 1993 following union elections. Robinson had been charged with four counts of stealing as a servant. The DPP indicated that the charges were dropped because of insufficient evidence.

PERTH — One of WA's longest-serving Aboriginal police officers quit last week, branding WA police as the country's most racist. Gerry Collard, who served for 23 years, said "As I look back now, I feel ashamed of myself for having stayed for 23 years working with people that are mainly a racist organisation." Collard alleges that over years he suffered racist taunts and insults. In 1991, his wife Rhonda was terrorised by a police Tactical Response Group and at a farewell for another cop, he claims, one officer defecated in his cup.
