A 'new' socialism

Issue

KATOOMBA — "The Venezuelans have learned a lot from the experiences — good and bad — of other revolutions, and out of that are building a 'new' socialism for the 21st century", Fred Fuentes told a public meeting organised by Green Left Weekly and the Socialist Alliance in the Blue Mountains on March 20.

After the screening of a documentary produced by Global Women's Strike, Fuentes described the huge social changes underway in Venezuela, and how they are strengthening the anti-imperialist movements in Latin America and around the world. The meeting discussed building solidarity with Venezuela, and the connections between the Venezuelans' achievements and our struggles against Howard's neoliberal attacks.
