Museworthy: The Wept

"the last edge of the knife" — Pablo Neruda
the persuasiveness of the shade in Summer
the judgement of the trees
the blue extraordinary
the purple cord joining me to my mother
the all-mothered
the future-loss
the hidden under the skin of my face
the wishful risking banishment
the shape of sunset
the forwardness of fiction
the lovely initiative
the great gift of significance
the land, the indivisible, my body
the refusing of letters
the intransigent parts and the whole
the other and some other remote place
the invited
the small white circles of light we breathe at night
the collection of bottled liquor
the assorted tools
the false souvenirs
the clamour and the randomness
the deepness of technique
the refusal by mouth
the chocolate smile of persuasion
the last edge of the knife
the vivisectors of unreality
the silence of that evidence
the new law and the old howl
the language of the season

they are few and lonely who weep for those
who should truly be wept for
