Psychologists call this 'projection'

"If we were to allow them to gain control of Iraq, they would have control of a nation with massive oil reserves — which they could use to fund new attacks and exhort economic blackmail on those who didn't kowtow to their wishes." — Emperor George Bush II, July 4.

This year's 1797, ain't it?

"Our first Independence Day celebration took place in a midst of a war — a bloody and difficult struggle that would not end for six more years before America finally secured her freedom. More than two decades later, it is hard to imagine the Revolutionary War coming out any other way — but at the time, America's victory was far from certain." — Emperor Bush, July 4.

Fighting ghosts

"The same folks that are bombing innocent people in Iraq were the ones who attacked us in America on September the 11th." — Emperor Bush, July 12, commenting on the US war in Iraq (apparently unaware that the 19 "folks" who carried out the 9/11 attacks all died in the airliners they hijacked).

His army only kills guilty men, women and children

"I understand that this is an ugly war. It's a war in which an enemy will kill innocent men, women and children in order to achieve a political objective." — Emperor Bush, July 12.
