War on Terror

"I was standing there depicting the iconic picture of the tortured Iraqi prisoner." — Comment by Joseph Previtera, a 21-year-old Boston student, after he was arrested on charges of disturbing the peace, making a false bomb threat, and possession of a hoax device. On May 26, Previtera had stood on a crate outside a military recruiting centre wearing a black hood and a dark shawl, with two wires dangling from his outstretched fingers.

When you're on a Big Lie, stick to it

"The reason I keep insisting that there was a relationship between Iraq and Saddam and al Qaeda, because there was a relationship between Iraq and al Qaeda." — Emperor George Bush II, June 17, rejecting the conclusion of his own National Commission on Terrorist Attacks on the United States that there was no evidence of a "collaborative relationship" between Saddam Hussein's regime and al Qaeda.

That certainly clarifies it

"We never said that Iraq had links with al Qaeda. We did say it had numerous contacts." — Emperor Bush, June 17. On February 8, 2003, Bush said: "Iraq has also provided al Qaeda with chemical and biological weapons training."

Bomb 'em if they do, bomb 'em if they don't

"Today, because our coalition acted, there are no terror training camps in Afghanistan. And if there are ... we will find them and destroy them." — Emperor Bush, June 18.

US now in age of enlightenment

"They ['terrorists'] are trying to take Iraq back to the dark ages that we used to live in until last year." — Emperor Bush, June 18.
