José Martí Cultural Evening

@box text intro = FREMANTLE — On June 15, more than 150 people gathered at the third José Martí Cultural Evening, organised by the Australia Cuba Friendship Society and Committees in Solidarity with Latin America and the Caribbean.

The speakers on the night described the heroic struggle of the Cuban people against the US blockade and paid homage to the great Cuban poet and revolutionary.

On June 14, Che Guevara's birthday was remembered, and as a tribute to the 30th anniversary of his death in October, ACFS launched a Che T-shirt, which will be sent to all other ACFS branches.

Poems and songs of struggle were highlights of this multicultural event, in which well-known Perth-based artists performed for free to help raise money for our Cuban friends.
