Green Left website traffic hits new high

Issue

Traffic to the Green Left Weekly website hit an all-time high on July 19, when a total of 19,650 visitors came to the site and a total of 86,243 articles were read. Previously, the highest number of visitors on one day had been around 14,000.

Most likely this spike is due to the huge interest in Michael Moore's film Fahrenheit 9/11 — the three most downloaded GLW articles in the last three weeks have all been articles on Moore and his film.

GLW's website has been ranked the top Australian political website two years in a row by Hitwise, the web traffic monitoring company, and Michael Moore's site has been the main site Australians visit internationally for alternative news.
