Fighting corporate terrorism

By Bronwen Powell

SYDNEY — The socialist youth organisation Resistance has announced it will be holding forums across the country to explain the "globalisation of corporate terrorism" and the need for the "globalisation of resistance".

The forums aim to clarify debate amongst anti-corporate campaigners about the role of corporations and international financial institutions such as the International Monetary Fund, World Bank and World Trade Organisation, and the most effective tactics and strategies to fight them.

The role of these institutions as defenders of the profits of large corporations will be discussed, and their impact on the environment and people will be highlighted.

The forums are part of Resistance's efforts to build the demonstrations against the World Economic Forum's Asia-Pacific Summit in Melbourne on September 11-13. For more information on the forums, contact your nearest Resistance Centre (details on page 2).
