An Extinction Rebellion activist climbed the roof of the parliamentary annexe on October 13 to highlight the critical danger the Great Barrier Reef faces because of the government's failure to take serious action on the climate.

Supporters held a large banner reading "Preserve Biodiversity" and chanted "2050 too late". They called on the government to come up with a climate transition plan that includes coal miners.
