An evening with John Pilger

SYDNEY — On August 13, Dendy Opera Quays Cinemas' will screen two of John Pilger's acclaimed The Timor Conspiracy and his latest documentary, The New Rulers of The World.

Pilger is a renowned Australian journalist and documentary filmmaker whose voluminous output over a 40-year career includes many acclaimed documentaries and books. He is a regular contributor to the leading news outlets of the world, including Green Left Weekly.

Pilger has been honoured with many awards including International Reporter of the Year, the UN Media Peace Prize, an Emmy award and the Richard Dimbleby Award from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.

The screenings, presented in association with the Museum of Contemporary Art's exhibition Reporting the World: John Pilger's great eyewitness photographers, will be introduced by the filmmaker and will also be followed by a question and answer session at the conclusion of the session.

Dendy Opera Quays Cinemas are at 2 East Circular Quay, Sydney. The screening begins at 6pm on Tuesday, August 13. Tickets cost $25 plus booking fee if ordered by phone. Phone (02) 9247 3800.
