European anti-racist conference

Delegates from 134 European anti-racist organisations, coming from 34 countries, will meet in Strasbourg from February 13 to 20. They gather for the conference "European Youth: United Actions Against Racism and Nationalism!" at the European Youth Centre of the Council of Europe.

This is the biggest international meeting of anti-racist organisations ever organised in Europe.

The participants will discuss rising racism and fascism inside and outside of "Fortress Europe" and plan common campaigning in 1994, such as the "European-wide Action Week Against Racism — March 19-27" and the (European) elections campaign "Europe Votes for Equal Rights". They will also decide on their participation in the Council of Europe's "Youth Campaign Against Racism, Xenophobia, Anti-Semitism, and Intolerance".

The meeting is organised by UNITED for Intercultural Action, a European network against nationalism, racism and fascism and in support of migrants and refugees. UNITED is in contact with 1200 European organisations and organises international cooperation.
