Old CDs needed for East Timor

The Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union in Sydney is collecting old CDs for East Timor's only community radio station, Voice of Hope.

The appeal was launched at a fundraising concert for the station at the Harbourside Brasserie in Sydney in April. More than 1000 CDs were donated on the night and at least 500 more have trickled in since then.

The Voice of Hope premises (formerly the underground station Radio Falintil) were gutted in the holocaust in East Timor last September, and its CD library was destroyed.

The appeal will be ongoing, unwanted CDs can be mailed to the CFMEU (NSW construction division), Locked Bag 1, QVB Post Office, Sydney 1230. For more information, phone 0414 867 188.
