SYDNEY — On Friday, April 9, three top Latin American bands will be joining forces to help raise funds for Cuba. Bands Candela, Charanga Libre and Club Havana will perform a vast spectrum of Cuban music styles. The event will take place at the Harbourside Brasserie, Circular Quay, beginning at 8pm. Tickets will be $10.

Ten-piece Candela, Sydney's top salsa group, performed at the Festival of Sydney's Festival de Cuba at Darling Harbour. Charanga Libre were the support act for the fantastic Cuban all-woman band Las Perlas del Son, who visited Australia recently. Seven-piece Club Havana specialise in traditional styles and instrumentation.

All proceeds from the event will go to the purchase and supply of vitamins for the Cabalgata Community Project for the elderly, in Santiago de Cuba. The goods will be distributed via the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the People.

The night is proudly supported by the Cubanismo program on Eastside Radio (89.7FM); Cafe Pacifico (in Riley Street, East Sydney), Music Front records in Ashfield Mall; the Latin American Dance Association, Glebe; La Disfida Pizzeria, Haberfield and Broadway Cellars, Glebe.
