Brown launches Recherche Bay book

CANBERRA — Australian Greens Senator Bob Brown launched his new book Tasmania's Recherche Bay on February 28. The book launch caps off a successful campaign involving a buy-back of south-east Tasmania's Recherche Bay peninsular to save it from clear-fell logging that had been due to start in February. Brown's book draws on diaries and paintings from the 1790s that capture the discoveries and interactions between French researchers and the Aboriginal population in the bay area.
