Bringing up baby

En route to see Baby With the Bathwater, our reviewer fell off his bicycle, suffering grievous injuries that prevented him viewing this new play at the Rep Theatre in Newtown, Sydney. So you'll have to see and judge it for yourself.

The play, by US satirist Christopher Durang (Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All for You, The Marriage of Bette and Boo, Beyond Therapy), is described as an "anarchic post-feminist romp about a genderless child raised by Mother who drinks cocktails for breakfast and Father who consoles himself with sedatives".

Baby is directed by Ben Slivkin, currently an associate lecturer at NIDA after extensive experience as a director in the USSR.

Performances are on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays through February 27. Ring 565 1482 for bookings.
