Unknown Images: the Vietnam War — US documentary footage, punctuated with black and white pictures taken by Vietnamese liberation fighters and the soldiers of the North Vietnamese army, shot from the early 1960s until 1975. Much of the footage has been in US Army vaults — untouched — for 20 years. SBS, Saturday. March 24, 8.30pm.

No More to Say and Nothing to Weep For — A portrait of beat poet Allen Ginsberg. ABC-TV, Sunday, March 25, 3.35pm.

Man in the Sand — Woody Guthrie inspired a generation with his radical lyrics and music. British singer/songwriter Billy Bragg set previously unreleased Guthrie lyrics to music. ABC-TV, Sunday, March 25, 10.05pm.

How Geraldo Lost His Job — A case study of the impact of globalisation on a worker in Brazil. In December 1998, three days before Christmas, Geraldo de Sousa lost his job after six years as a manual worker in the Ford factory in Sao Paulo. This program traces the local and global reasons for his dismissal and looks at the institutions involved in the decision-making processes of Brazil's economy. Needless to say, Ford refused to speak with the program. Geraldo has a slim chance of returning to his job in the future. SBS, Tuesday, March 27, 8.30pm.

Jazz Heroes: John Coltrane — The legacy of the jazz musician whose music became the jazz soundtrack to the 1960s civil rights movement. ABC-TV, Thursday, March 29, 11pm.
