Loyalists — First episode in a three-part documentary series. The BBC is not renowned for its objectivity when it comes to the British occupation of Ireland, so it will be interesting to see how it deals with the history of the right-wing pro-British "loyalist" terror gangs in Ireland. The program examines the emergence of the main anti-Catholic, anti-nationalist gangs, the Ulster Volunteer Force, and the Ulster Defence Association and its killer unit, the Ulster Freedom Fighters. Surviving AIDS — Examines the progress that has been made in the last five years in the treatment and understanding of the human immunodeficiency virus that causes AIDS. SBS, Tuesday, February 15, 8.30pm.
