Skin Deep: the Science of Race — David Suzuki takes us on a journey beneath the surface of skin colour and racial discrimination. SBS, Sunday, September 21, 7.30pm.

The Dead are Alive: Rwanda, an Eyewitness — Belgian journalist Els De Temmerman travelled behind the lines to report on the systematic genocide of hundreds of thousands of Tutsi and moderate Hutu Rwandans in 1994. SBS, Sunday, September 21, 11.30pm.

Bringing Them Home — A documentary made for the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission to document the investigation into the stories of the Aboriginal "stolen generations". It details the physical and sexual abuse suffered by many children in institutions and foster homes, and argues that one of the UN's definitions of genocide applies to Australia's assimilation policies. SBS, Monday, September 22, 7.30pm.

Flooded Dreams — Members of the Barkindji community at Lake Victoria are struggling to prevent the largest pre-industrial Aboriginal burial site from being inundated. SBS, Monday, September 22, 8pm.

Franz Fanon: Black Skin, White Mask — A profile of Franz Fanon, one of the major revolutionary black intellectuals of the 20th century. His books, notably Black Skin, White Masks and The Wretched of the Earth, analysed the effects of colonialism on both black and white cultures. SBS, Monday, September 22, 8.30pm.

One Land, Two People — This New Zealand film looks at a land claim against the Treaty of Waitangi. The Whakatohea claim has its origins in an injustice committed against the Maori people during the land wars last century. SBS, Wednesday, September 24, 8.30pm.

Skin— Last year there were 11,000 reported racial attacks in Britain. This film tells the personal stories of some of those who have become victims of hate. SBS, Wednesday, September 24, 11.45pm.

Straight from the Yudaman's Mouth — In 1939, the white superintendent of the Palm Island mission, Robert Curry, went berserk, killing members of his own family. A young Aboriginal man, Peter Prior, killed Curry in self-defence. Now 91, Prior gives an account of the manipulation by the authorities of Aboriginal people and their culture. ABC-TV, Thursday, September 25, 8.30pm.

Buffalo Legends — Football hero Bill Dempsey narrates the story of a group of Aboriginal footballers who hurdled the barriers of racism in sport. Even though the law did not allow them to play, by the 1930s they were the best team in Darwin. Their Buffaloes Football Club became the centre of an organised three-decade long struggle for legal, social and economic rights. SBS, Thursday, September 25, 8.30pm.
