More than 100 people gathered at the former Blue Mountains library to call for a ceasefire in Gaza on November 12. It was  organised by the newly-formed Blue Mountains Friends of Palestine.

A Palestinian-Australian, representatives from the Blue Mountains Peace Collective, Socialist Alliance, the Greens and federal Labor MP Susan Templeman addressed the rally.

The young Palestinian said she “deeply appreciates” the local support. Templeman said she agreed with the call on Labor to support a ceasefire. After the speeches, the protest marched through Katoomba Street to rally in front of The Carrington Hotel.

[The next Blue Mountains Friends of Palestine protest is on November 19, 12noon at 81-83 Katoomba Street, Katoomba.]
