Australians show solidarity with Aceh

Issue

Emergency pickets were held across Australia on May 23, as part of an international day of action for democracy and justice in Aceh. Protests were held in Adelaide, Darwin, Melbourne, Newcastle and Sydney, as well as in the US, Germany, Holland, Britain and Malaysia.

Protesters called for the Indonesian government to stop the war on Aceh.

Pictured is the Sydney protest, which was co-organised by the Australia-Aceh Association and Action in Solidarity with Asia and the Pacific.
