Appeal for Pinochet victims to come forward

British lawyers representing victims of the Pinochet regime in Chile have appealed for individuals or their relatives whose cases are mentioned in the Spanish request for the extradition of Pinochet to contact them immediately.

The British House of Lords, Britain's highest court, is to consider the appeal against the ruling that the former dictator has immunity for the human rights atrocities committed while he was head of Chile.

British lawyers representing victims of those atrocities hope to present their cases at the hearing. They fear that in the absence of testimony from victims the case for extradition will be weakened.
