CANBERRA — Activists from the Canberra Region Anti-Nuclear Campaign made a submission to the Howard government's Uranium Mining Processing and Nuclear Energy Review, which closed on August 18. The CRANC submission criticised the narrow terms of reference, stating, "By excluding clean energy options [UMPNER] has taken a one-sided view of the energy debate". UMPNER members refused to receive CRANC's submission in person, instead directing security personnel to collect the document, along with 1700 others submitted by the Australian Conservation Council.
