Anti-deportation campaign launched

Issue

During a national phone hook-up on May 24, refugee rights activists decided to launch a campaign against the threatened deportation of Iranian refugees.

On April 29, Iranians in the Baxter detention centre were told by the immigration department that they have 28 days to voluntarily return to Iran or they will be forcibly repatriated.

The National Anti-Deportation Alliance plans kick off the campaign with protest actions outside immigration department offices on May 28. To join the NADA e-list visit <http://www.topica.com/lists/no-removals/>.
