Subject: Stamping out Political Correctness

When the Howard government came to power, it was obvious to all and sundry that a tide of political correctness was sweeping the country and that the electorate had given the incoming Liberal and National Party government a mandate to stamp it out.

There were numerous deplorable examples of political correctness infesting public debate.

In certain quarters, gays and lesbian demands were being taken seriously.

Just because the High Court, in the Mabo Case, had found some vestiges of "native title", many in the media were responding to indigenous people as if they still had some continuing interest in land, even though it introduced uncertainty in the minds of miners and pastoralists.

Industrial relations had got so far out of hand that members of the judiciary were starting to suggest that workers shouldn't be dismissed unfairly.

Women had become so militant that a few private employers had had to provide paid maternity leave.

It had reached a stage where it was being suggested in limited circles that multiculturalism meant including migrants in our society.

All this, as our leader suggested, was the fault of political correctness. It has to be eradicated. Therefore, the following guidelines are circulated to inform your media comment.

The expression "the environment" is no longer a stand-alone concept and must be qualified in some way by the word "Telstra". "Telstra" must always be prefixed by "sell".

"Telstra" must also be associated with "retiring debt", "international competitiveness", "ending unproductive state run monopolies" and "like the Commonwealth Bank being a drain on our economy".

Always associate the word "Democrat" with the idea that they are ignoring the government's mandate to sell Telstra in order to save the environment.

Remember — if deigning to mention the "Greens" — it is important to conclude with the comment, "By standing in the way of the Telstra sale, they have proved themselves to be environmental vandals".

"Labor" or "Labor Party" are the group responsible for Mabo, undermining the economy, causing balance of payment difficulties, creating a black hole, standing in the way of mining uranium in the Jabiluka wetlands and introducing unfair dismissal legislation which single-handedly caused unemployment.

Further bulletins will be issued daily to assist you in the fight against multicultural, gay, left ecologists who would, if they could, undermine certainty in our land tenure system on pastoral and mining leases.
