    • If Dastyari didn't want abuse, he shouldn't be non-white in public

I had considered the racist abuse hurled at Labor Senator Sam Dastyari to be a deliberate publicity stunt by a group of neo-Nazis, enabled by a climate of rising bigotry and white nationalism, on the grounds that they deliberately sought out the senator, filmed their racist abuse and posted it on Facebook.

That was before Pauline Hanson explained otherwise. The senator, campaigning in Queensland, pointed out that Dastyari was just using abuse he faced in a pub on November 8 to sell his book.

    • Congratulations to Green Left! It has been a school of political, social, environmental and solidarity consciousness that has endured the test of time, and only grows stronger and more radical. I am honoured and humble in my association with such a people-powered media project.

  • About Green Left

In a desperately unequal world facing a climate emergency, wars and growing inequality, everyone has to pick a side.

Our side is — and always will be — that of the 99%.

Our goal is not only to expose the lies, hypocrisy and bias of the billionaire class and their media: we seek to help the organising efforts of all those actively resisting the increasingly authoritarian rule of the corporate rich, here and overseas.
