Why
Nup to the Cup! On the 3rd November, come along to protest the Melbourne Cup day outside Ascot Racecourse.
Join us to raise your voice for the innocent horses who suffer in the name of glitz, glam glory and gambling on Melbourne Cup Day.
These horses endure whips, tongue ties and bits, forced to race beyond their limits. With 175 on-track fatalities in Australia last racing year, and thousands more horses sent to knackeries. It’s time to end this animal cruelty and ban horse racing.
- Please dress smart-casual – dressing up is encouraged.
- Bring a hat, sunscreen and water, there may not be shade and it could be hot.
- Meet us opposite Gate 4.
- Signs and banners provided.
