Why
Help Us Build A Massive Palestine Solidarity Rally This October.
On Sunday 11 October, AFOPA will join the Global Alliance for Palestine in a worldwide Palestine solidarity Rally on the steps of Parliament House in Adelaide.

This October marks 3 years of Israel’s horrific genocide in Gaza. It also marks 3 years of resilience, resistance and solidarity in occupied Palestine and throughout the world .
We have an opportunity to demonstrate the strength of the Palestine solidarity movement, bring new people into the movement and build the momentum we need for the year ahead.
Coming just before the State Labor Conference, it is also an important opportunity to show decision-makers that our movement will continue to demand action.
Additional information, including speakers, will be announced closer to the date. However, the impact of this rally will depend on how many people come out to stand up for Palestine on the day. That work starts now.
Here are 3 practical things you can do today to help build the rally
1. Are you a union member? Ask your union to endorse the rally!
Union support is key to building a strong Palestine solidarity movement in South Australia.
If you are a union member, please contact your union and ask them to endorse the Rally and to promote this rally to their members.

I am writing to ask that the [Union Name] endorse the upcoming 3 Years of Genocide and Resistance Palestine Solidarity Rally, being held at 2pm on Sunday 11 October at Parliament House Steps in Kaurna Yerta.
The rally is being organised as part of a Global Day of Action for Palestine and will bring together the South Australian community to stand for Palestinian freedom and self-determination; and demand an end to the Australian Government’s complicity in Israel’s illegal occupation, apartheid and genocide.
I believe it is important that [Union name] stands with the Palestine solidarity movement and helps build a strong turnout for this action.
I encourage the union to endorse the rally and promote it to members through your communications and networks.

2. Help Leaflet for the Rally and Get the Word Out!
One of the best ways to bring more people into our movement is to get the Rally information directly into their hands!
AFOPA will be organising leafletting sessions outside the Adelaide Railway Station during peak hours on
- Friday 2 October | 8am + 5pm
- Wednesday 7 October | 8am + 5pm
But we need your help!
Even one hour of leafletting can mean dozens more people hearing about the rally and about Palestine. The more people who take part in these outreach efforts, the bigger and stronger our mobilisation can be.
You don’t need previous experience - just come along and help us get the word out!

3. Share the Rally with Your Networks!
Please don't assume that people already know about the Rally.
Share this event with your friends, family, workmates, community groups and union branch.
Invite people personally and post it on your social media.
Encourage your community group to endorse the Rally.
