Why

Federal Loves Refugees is proud to welcome back the team from Cisarua Learning, and to announce a special screening of their new film We Are Not Powerless.

Entry by donation. All proceeds to Cisarua Learning.

Many of you will remember meeting directors Muzafar and Jolyon, who visited us in June last year, to share their first film The Staging Post.

The Staging Post told the story of husband and wife Muzafar and Nagina, who had escaped the Taliban in Afghanistan and found themselves stuck in Indonesia when Australia 'stopped the boats'. Determined to do something, they co-founded the first Cisarua school in two rooms in West Java.

This year, Nagina and Jolyon return to Federal with their second film. We Are Not Powerless tells the story of what happens when people refuse to give up on hope.

Entry by donation. All proceeds to Cisarua Learning.
