Why

ACFS hosts Elizabeth and Vinnie recently returned from the First International Colloquium "Fidel Legacy and Future" held in Havana, Cuba on 10-13 August to mark the Centenial of Fidel Castro's birthday.

We invite you to come and hear to their first hand reports. The the event was attended by over 1500 delegates from 63 countries defying the genocidal blockade imposed on the island by the United States. The role of international solidarity and the US attempts to criminalise people to people solidarity was very much evident.

The effects of more than 60 years of economic, financial and trade blockade and the two executive orders by the Trump regime impossing an oil embargo and illegal coercive measures with extraterritorial threats on countries or business from trading with Cuba. We will discuss the impacts but also the resilience of the people.

What is the future?

How can we help defeat the blockade?

What role we can play to defend Cuba from Trump's military threats on a small island in the Caribbean whose only crime is to resist for their right to self determination and independence.

5.30pm drinks and nibbles for a 6pm start. Free event.
