Why

In the southern suburbs of Wollongong we have a strong community. We love the place we live – the beach and the water on one side, and the escarpment on the other. We have a long working class and migrant history and know what it means to struggle, and to look after each other. The federal government’s proposal to construct a nuclear submarine base in Port Kembla attempts to override our ability to keep each other safe & create our own future. We can build our collective power and take action to force the government to choose our interests.

To do this we need to have hundreds of conversations with our neighbours. Talking to the people on our streets can feel intimidating - so join us at this doorknock training!

RSVP and stay in touch.

We will:

  • Learn the key reasons a nuclear submarine base doesn’t serve the PK community.
  • understand why doorknocking is strategic in building community resistance to the base.
  • Gain the the skills, resources and confidence to have conversations at the door.
  • Get set up to hit the streets, and
  • Share food and feel connected to each <3 <3
