Why

Join Alliance Against Islamophobia for a peaceful civil-society protest during the reported Melbourne Meets Modi reception in Melbourne.

We stand against hatred, bigotry and persecution, including anti-Muslim hate, attacks on minorities, tribals, suppression of dissent, pressure on journalists and civil society, and the erosion of democratic freedoms in India.

We invite all people of conscience — Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Dalit, Adivasi, Tamil, Kashmiri and other diaspora communities, unions, students, academics, lawyers, faith leaders, anti-racism organisations and human rights advocates — to stand together peacefully.

Our message is simple: Melbourne must stand for human rights, democracy, equality and dignity.

This will be a peaceful, lawful and inclusive protest.

Exact assembly point and final timing will be confirmed once official venue and access details are clear.

Endorse the protest.
