Why

Melbourne City Council cancelled our peaceful educational seminar over “security concerns” that they won't explain. We will not be silenced.

Join us THIS TUESDAY, JUNE 30 at 5pm.

At 7pm on a Friday, City of Melbourne Libraries phoned to cancel the room we had booked for Veronica Sherman's Christian Zionism seminar. Why? Unexplained “safety and security concerns” and “potential protest activity”.

Bullshit. A talk by a Jewish Israeli can’t be antisemitic, and Palestinians had no reason to shut it down. The only people who did were Zionists - and Melbourne City Council handed them a heckler’s veto over who speaks in a public library.

So we held it at Coburg Library instead - and it was our biggest ever. 60 people, zero incidents, and more than a few who turned up just because Melbourne City Council tried to censor us.

This is part of a wider crackdown: NSW and QLD banning protest and speech, a Royal Commission that refuses to hear Palestinian or anti-Zionist Jewish voices, and the IHRA definition being rolled out across Australian institutions to brand criticism of Israel as antisemitic.
