Victorian public school staff stopwork action – Rally & march

AEU members at a rally

When

Where

Victorian Trades Hall
54 Victoria St
Carlton VIC 3053
Australia

Why

98% of AEU Victoria schools members – public school teachers, principals and education support staff – have voted in support of taking stopwork action over low pay and excessive workloads.

The planned 24-hour statewide stopwork will go ahead on Tuesday 24 March. Members will rally at Victorian Trades Hall at 10.30am before marching to Parliament House for a second rally.

Why are we taking action?

Victoria’s public school staff are being taken for granted by the Allan Labor government, which has not put a fair pay deal on the table despite having the union’s claims for more than seven months.

Public school teachers, principals, and education support staff are being disrespected and undervalued, with excessive workloads and serious wage disparity compared to other states.

More members means a stronger agreement

The more members we have, the stronger our voice at the bargaining table and the greater our ability to win real improvements to pay, workload and conditions. Every new member makes our campaign harder to ignore.
